Oscar Predictions and Buzz

February 24th, 2007 by admin

It’s that time again! Oscar night! This year marks the 79th Academy Awards. Some of this years musical guests will include Beyonce, James Taylor, and Melissa Etheridge. Part of the stage design will include a one ton curtain with 50,000 Swarovski crystals. This year’s host will be Ellen Degeneres.

Beyonce, who stared in DreamGirls, is fairly confident the film will win for Best Director. Other buzz includes speculation that Helen Mirren will win for Supporting Actress in The Queen, as she already took home the Voipi Cup for it at the Venice Film Festival. If Mark Wahlberg wins, he might bust out some Good Vibrations in his acceptance speech. Jack Nicholson is bringing his new girlfriend, and Best Supporting Actress nominee for Little Miss Sunshine, Abigail Breslin. There is also word that there will ba an ad teaser for the iPhone during the show. And Ellen DeGeneres plans to announce she is following in the footsteps of Bradgelina and will be adopting a child from Vietnam.

I liked your picks and agree with you 99%. I’m still unsure for Actress in a leading role. Maybe the Acedemy doesn’t want Meryl to win again and give it to someone new?

    Where’s Little Miss Sunshine?

  3. Kenny Says:

I disagree with the first three picks and also your Best Picture pick. Mine are, Forest Whitaker,
Eddie Murphy, Helen Mirren and Letters From Iwo Jima.

An Inconvenient Truth shouldn’t win was a terrible movie
